Frequently Asked Questions
Where did Dr. Haase receive her naturopathic medical training?
She earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (NMD) and LAc (Licensed Acupuncturist) from Sonoran University of Health Sciences (formerly SCNM) in Tempe, AZ. She graduated with high honors receiving the Daphne Blayden award, nominated by the faculty and fellow classmates – it represents her commitment to naturopathic medicine, academic excellence, compassion, perseverance, a loving sense of humor, and a positive, supportive outlook. Prior to this, she received her Masters in Nutrition from National University of Natural Medicine. Her Bachelors of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a minor in Health Disparities in Society was earned from University of Florida. Throughout her schooling, she received additional training in applied kinesiology, craniosacral, pranic healing, flower essences and brain gym primitive reflex reintegration.
Are all naturopathic doctors created equally?
No, not all naturopathic doctors (NDs or NMDs) are created equally. The title “naturopathic doctor” can be used by individuals with varying levels of training and credentials, depending on the state or country in which they practice (especially here in Idaho). Graduates from accredited naturopathic medical schools, such as Sonoran University of Health Sciences, complete a rigorous four-year, in-residence doctoral program that includes extensive coursework in biomedical sciences, clinical sciences, and hands-on patient care. In contrast, some practitioners may have completed only online or correspondence courses, which do not meet the same educational or clinical standards. It is important to verify that your naturopathic doctor is licensed and has graduated from an accredited institution to ensure you receive safe, effective, and evidence-based care. What is the difference in training between MDs, DOs, and Naturopathic Doctors (ND/NMD)?
Medical Doctors (MDs) and Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) attend accredited medical schools and complete four years of medical education, followed by residency training in their chosen specialty. Their training emphasizes conventional medical sciences, diagnosis, and treatment, with DOs also receiving additional instruction in osteopathic manipulative medicine.
Naturopathic Doctors (NDs or NMDs) who graduate from accredited medical schools complete a four-year, graduate-level program that includes biomedical sciences, clinical diagnosis, and natural therapeutics such as nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine, and counseling. NMDs are trained to integrate conventional medical knowledge with evidence-based natural therapies, focusing on disease prevention and holistic patient care. Unlike MDs and DOs, NMDs are not required to complete hospital-based residencies, as we do not specialize in one organ of the body but rather specialize in the entire human body.
Can Dr. Haase order labs?
Yes, Dr. Haase can order blood tests, laboratory work, and imaging studies, similar to other licensed healthcare providers. As a client of Deeply Rooted Healing Haven, you will have access to comprehensive diagnostic testing as part of your individualized care plan.
Are all supplements created equal?
No, not all supplements meet the same quality standards. While the FDA requires companies to ensure their products are safe and properly labeled, there is no strict pre-market approval process for dietary supplements. This means that product quality, purity, and potency can vary widely. Licensed healthcare practitioners, such as Dr. Haase, rely on premium suppliers who adhere to stringent quality assurance practices, including third-party testing for contaminants, accurate labeling, and verification of ingredient purity. Dr. Haase carefully selects supplements based on these standards to ensure safety and efficacy for her clients.

Do you accept insurance?
At this time, naturopathic doctors do not participate with insurance networks and payment in full is required at the time of your appointment. We are pleased to accept HSA and FSA cards as forms of payment.
